A new face to the eclectic sounds of today’s culture is just what the doctor ordered. Yamill Noelle Nogues aka Yami, born in Atlanta and raised in the heart of Miami, is very familiar with the lifestyle and traditions of her Cuban roots. Growing up with the traditional sounds of this beautiful island, intertwined with the urban influences she had as a child, the love and the vibe she delivers in her music is inevitable. With influences from the late Celia Cruz, La Lupe, Hector Lavoe, and Marc Anthony, mixed in with the R&B influences of today such as Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, & Patti La Belle…she has created a unique style guaranteed to captivate you. Yami’s career started to take off in 2005 when she was blessed with the opportunity to work with talented musician/composer/producer Miles Peña who produced an entire musical production with original songs written by her aunt in 1968 while living in Cuba. The production was titled “Un Sueño Dorado”. In doing so, she managed to capture the hearts of the audience and was invited for several appearances on Local & Int'l TV shows. She showcased her music on XM Radio (Caliente) & was invited to a private event hosted by Mike Weiss of Nervous Records, 92.3FM & 98.3FM & gained some recognition once she showcased herself on Escandalo TV with Charitin & the rest of the crew. A year later, Mr. 305’s (Pitbull) crew was looking for a female vocalist to collaborate with on one of their new artists (Young Fredo) songs titled “Ten Cuidado”. She’s got the best of both worlds & her plan is to bring that forth in her new music. With the combination of her lyrical & musical expression & the help of Gem & Fame Music who are also very good friends, you are guaranteed to be blown away. Yami is music, harmony, a wonderful spirit, and enlightening to the soul. Indulge yourself in the smooth sounds and modern vibe of this sensation.
